Lodging & Hospitality FAQs

Why does my bedding (from other vendors) break down on the side?

It is common for a guest to sit on the side of the bed to remove his/her shoes, use the telephone, etc. If the box-spring does not offer proper coil spring edge support, the mattress will break down over time and require replacement.

Many companies use foundations instead of proper coil box-springs. Coil box-springs add life to the bed-set while also offering more comfort and support for the guest. As 60 percent of body weight is transferred to the box-spring, it is important that the proper sleeping system is purchased to prevent excessive wear and tear.

What is the difference between a no flip and regular flip bed?

No flip beds, or one-sided beds, have become very common in the marketplace. Many one sided products are not supported properly and do not contain the proper upholstery layers and innerspring systems to make it a good investment.

It is important that if purchasing a one-sided product, it is truly able to sustain the wear and tear it will endure. Beware of any one-sided product without proper support systems, especially those with foundations in the box-springs.

A buyer is essentially purchasing half of a bed, so it must be manufactured to meet proper specification requirements. Jamison offers three different one-sided products that meet industry criteria. The Elite Pillowtop No Flip and New Generation Plus (7” and 9”) each provide long lasting comfort, support, and durability.

What product(s) do you recommend?

We stand behind our New Generation Plus 7” and 9” no flip (one-sided) beds. With over 50 years experience manufacturing top quality no flip beds, Jamison Bedding is the only manufacturer of this product anywhere in the world.

This bed-set is extremely comfortable as we sell thousands of sets each year in the hospitality market and over 100 per month to lodging guests for use in their residence(s). The box-spring, which is made up of three different contract coils and 5” of hardwood, lasts upwards of 20-plus years. It does not have to be flipped, only has to be replaced about every 10 years, and are virtually malfunction proof — all excellent qualities which help cut your replacement costs in half!

If you are searching for the most economical investment you can make in your property, this is your product and Jamison is your vendor!

What is the normal lifespan of a Jamison Bedding Hospitality mattress set?

The industry standard is between 7 to 10 years. This time frame varies depending on the type of bedding investment you are willing to make for your property. The type of box-spring, upholstery layers, number of coils, and type of sleeping system chosen will determine how long your bedding will last.

Is it acceptable to replace only my mattress if my box-springs are still in good shape?

This is an acceptable practice if you have purchased the New Generation series of bedding from Jamison Bedding. These box-springs will last 20-plus years.

As 60 percent of a guest’s weight is transferred to the box-spring — for most other conventional bed-sets — the mattress and box-spring require replacement at approximately the same time interval. Otherwise, any wear and tear that your box-spring has sustained will be transferred to your new mattress as it conforms to the size and shape of your used box-spring.

Therefore, Jamison always recommends changing your bedding in sets to prevent uneven wear and providing the ultimate sleeping experience for your guests.
